Letter of Recommendation

This letter of recommendation was written for me by Helena Kennedy, coordinator of the Cal-Pro-NET center, Fresno. I worked there as an office assistant for 11 months and learned a great deal about general office procedures. My general duties included answering the phones, printing materials, tech support, and other general office duties. Additionally, I developed a few Flash activities for the online Cal-Pro-NET courses as well as the online registration site.

To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure that I write a letter of recommendation on behalf of Alex Fong.

Alex worked as a student aide for the Fresno City College California Professional Nutrition Education and Training (Cal-Pro-NET) Center from October 17, 2006 to September 6, 2007.

The Cal-Pro-NET center, through an interagency agreement with the California Department of Education, Nutrition Services Division, offers courses tailored to the special needs of child nutrition professionals working with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

Alex's duties consisted of preparing training materials and resources for workshops and online trainings, such as printed and e-mail training announcements, name tags, sign-in sheets, course rosters, summary evaluations and certificates of completion.

For the online courses, Alex assisted with course enrollment, data entry, tracking of course completion and processing and mailing certificates of completion. Alex created the interactive Flash activities for two of the Cal-Pro-NET courses, Menu Production Records and Eligibility Requirements and Enrollment Forms. He also added media resources to the Monitoring and Training course and developed the online enrollment sites for the Center's online courses.

Alex is an outstanding young man. He is smart, talented, highly productive, punctual and responsible. He possesses exceptional customer service abilities. Alex is very personable; he knows how to treat people with respect and professionalism. He likes working and staying busy and takes a lot of pride in the quality of his work.

Alex definitely raised the standards for the student aide position at the Cal-Pro-NET Center. He is surely missed.

It is without reservation that I recommend Alex Fong for any type of work he chooses to pursue.

Sincerely,

Helena S. Kennedy, MS, RD
Coordinator
